Sport

St Augustine’s offers students many opportunities to participate in a variety of individual & team sports throughout their primary education years. It is the school’s belief that each child should be encouraged to explore and develop their own unique physical capabilities when it comes to active sport participation. St Augustine’s promotes health education through class lessons, as well as, highlighting the importance of exercise as part of each student’s daily routine.

Each student is allocated a House Colour team by the school and family groupings are always maintained. Students are encouraged to compete for their House Colour teams at each of the three intra-school carnivals; swimming, cross country and athletics. Our House Colour teams are (each of the team names represents the four main beaches in our Parish):

Currumbin Blue Whales

Tugun Green Sharks

Kirra Red Dolphins

Coolangatta Gold Marlins

St Augustine’s has gained a very healthy and positive reputation amongst the Gold Coast Primary School community as being a very fair and highly competitive sporting school. St A’s prides itself on encouraging its students to always display great sportspersonship on and off the field, irrespective of the final result, and most importantly have fun!
