Points to note about payment of school fees

A School Fee Account will be mailed to each family in the first week of each Term. Fees may, however, be paid annually, by term, monthly, fortnightly or weekly.

If the entire administration levy for the year is paid within the first five weeks of school, there will be a 5% discount off the entire school fee. Further, if you arrange by mid February to pay all fees throughout the school year by periodic payment, and they are in fact paid, there will be a 5% rebate off the entire school fee payable at the end of the year.

Please contact the school early in Term I to discuss your fee situation if you feel you need to pay by instalments, or if you believe you will have difficulty in paying the full school fee. A recommended way of spreading the fee account over the school year is to arrange with the Archdiocesan Development Fund to take periodic payments from your bank or Credit Union. Details of this free service are available from the school. As part of our school fee collection policy, any family anticipating financial difficulties will be expected to avail themselves of this free service.

Another service that is offered by the school to assist in the ease of payment of school fees is an EFTPOS facility available at the front office. This service is also available at the Uniform Shop.

Please note that, as arrangements for the Term are based upon the presumption that an individual pupil remain at the school for the duration of that term, fees are not generally refunded, and a term’s notice is required if a child leaves during the school year.

SPORTING / EDUCATION LEVY

Each child is charged a Sporting / Education Levy for all day trips, visiting performers, winter sports, athletics and swimming carnivals, swimming program etc that they will be involved in for the year. This levy is set for each child. Each primary school child in the school will be involved in an intensive swim program. There will be no refunds where children are unable to attend events covered by this levy.

This levy will not include any representative requirements (e.g. Regional Athletics, choirs etc) where only selected children may be involved. These costs are met by the P&F. This levy does not include Camps for Years 5, 6 and 7.

RESOURCES LEVY

The internal educational financing of St Augustine’s is done through this levy. The levy covers such items as textbooks, exercise pads (all varieties), art and craft materials, and all other subject area needs. It covers additions to the Library Resource Centre, sport, music and photocopying costs. It also covers a limited number of pencils, pens and rulers. The levy is payable per term.

LATE ENROLMENTS

Families enrolling children at St Augustine’s after the commencement of the school year will be expected to pay the fees that the school will expend on their child. Parents enrolling their children after the commencement of the school year need to bear in mind that, whether a child attends the school for the entire year, or a portion of the year, the school purchases the entire resources that each child will require. This means that the resources levy will need to be paid for the entire year.
Each family enrolling will be required to pay the full sporting / education levy for the term, the pro rata school administration levy, and the pro rata building levy. These charges must be paid before the child commences at the school.

DEPARTING THE SCHOOL

Families departing the school at any time, apart from the end of a school year, need to inform the school a term in advance of their departure. The school is levied set amounts per term and indeed per annum for each child enrolled at the school. A child leaving the school before the end of a term is expected to pay all fees for that term.
